FSB:: Initial Ideas

We held a meeting today to talk through our intial ideas, we are then going research this evening and re-group tomorrow to discuss our ideas. We also emailed the Fashion Show committee to express our interest, as required. Hopefully, we will be contacted sometime next week so we need to ensure we have visuals ready for Monday.

The brief states that they want

'the history and character of the space to be used as direction for the concept of the graphics'

They also state that the tone of voice should be:

'Clear, concise, professional, cutting edge, contemporary – Despite the rustic feel to the venue our vision for the interior of the event is clean and minimal.'
Consequently, we have brainstormed and come up with the concept of 'old&new.'

We want to use black and white or monotone imagery with one spot colour. This spot colour can also be used in the form of thread and fabric. The uncoloured imagery being 'old' and the spot colour being 'new.'

We also want the 'old&new' concept to work in terms of the students holding the event in an 'old' building showcasing the 'new' design work of fashion graduates.

We really want to capitalise on the fact that they are holding the event in a textile mill so are going to look into printing the promotional material for the event onto fabric.
