Final Crit
Today we had our final crit where we presented all of our work and got feedback. I was actually surprised by the amount of work I had and felt really pleased. I gained some positive feedback from my peers which has given me the drive to now power on to the end.

Brief 4:: Final map of destinations
My final map of the Creative Lottery tour destinations, whereby it will visit 17 of the top Art and Design Universities in the UK
Brief 4:: Final t-shirt designs
I have used the same colours on the design as I have in the printed
materials. The block coloured pattern on the front is a representation of the front cover of Creative Lottery ticket. I have also used the same angle on the front of the design as on the reverse. The t-shirts are therefore a visual representation of the creative lottery ticket design, whilst also drawing attention and creating awareness about the event.
Brief 4:: Further T-shirt Development
I have pushed the t-shirt design development as I want my designs to reflect current fashion trends as a representation of the popular design It's Nice That showcases.
Brief 4:: Flag Development
I have been developing the flag design and mocking them up to show how the flags will work in context
This design shows how the flags could work outside Leeds University, however, they mock-up does not look very professional so I don not wish to submit this to D&AD alongside my other design work.
I am going to just use these as they show the design and could be visualised anywhere.

Brief 4:: Creative Hotspots in the UK
Apart from London, the research identifies nine other creative 'hotspots' across the UK:
- Bath
- Brighton
- Bristol
- Cambridge
- Guildford
- Edinburgh
- Manchester
- Oxford
- Wycombe and Slough
I mapped these out on a map:
However, I soon realised that the desitination were not evenly dispersed across the country and that the information I was basing this on was not concerned with students but instead creatives in general. So I am going to revert to using the Guardian University league table.
Brief 4:: Destinations
I am using the Guardian Art and Design University league table as context for my destinations for the tour. This will ensure that It's Nice That are primarily targeting creative students:
-London
-Oxford
-Lancaster
-Newcastle
-Edinburgh
-Glasgow
-Reading
-Brighton
-Loughborough
-Leeds
-Birmingham
-Huddersfield
-Lincoln
-Falmouth

Brief 4:: T-shirt Design Development
I have used the images I took of t-shirts and began to mock my designs onto them. I have used current t-shirts trends as context so that the promotional t-shirts are fashionable and are a representation of It's Nice That.

Brief 4::T-shirt designs
I have taken images of my model in plain white t-shirts so that I can then mock the designs onto them.

Brief 4:: Codes
I have designed coded made up of the combinations
I =It's
N =Nice
T =That
0 =Number
0 =Number
0 =Number
0 =Number
C = creative
L =lottery
i.e int2745cl
Each recipient will receive a unique code in their lottery ticket.
These number letter combinations are also what make up the pattern being used in the creative lottery designs.

Brief 4:: Top creative universities
Rather than the creative lottery tour just simply visiting all the universities across the country, it would be more beneficial if they were to visit locations which are well known for their creative courses at the institutions. I have therefore researched into the top Universities for Art and Design
Brief 4:: Leeds Uni Images
In order for me to be able to mock up the flag designs in context, I have taken photographs of Leeds University, where they usually have promotional events taking place. This will enable me to photoshop my flag design into these...
Brief 4:: Ticket Photographs
Today I went into the studio to photograph my creative lottery tickets so that I can put the images on my boards to show how the design would look when put into production. With a little photoshopping of the tones, these should show my designs off as I wish them to be seen.
Brief 4:: Tshirt Design Inspiration
I have been looking a little more into current fashion trends, in particular designs which use a pattern so that I can continue to use my numbers/letters pattern through to t-shirt designs.

Brief 4:: Ticket Making
I have printed and constructed the It's Nice That Creative Lottery Tickets this morning so that I can go into the studio and photograph them professionally later.

Brief 4:: Constructing the design
Today I printed the designs onto the coloured stock and began to put them together. I wanted to white foil the 'creative lottery' type on the front, however, when I tested this it did not hold well and looked very unprofessional. This will look sufficient for photographs and I can then explain my print finish intentions in the type on my boards. I also perforated and folded each of the tickets ready to have the rest of the design applied.

Brief 4:: Finalising Ticket Design
After experimenting further with layout designs, I have taken each layout I wish to use and created the document in each of the three colours in order to see how each colour interacts with the page layout and type.
Brief 4:: Ticket Development
As I need to print and photograph the creative lottery tickets, I have begun to re-work the designs to ensure they are coherent and the information is presented in the best possible format in the most suitable hierarchy.
