Brief 6:: T-shirt Design

I have playing around with t-shirt designs for the event staff to wear. I want the designs to be a continuation of the other printed collateral.

Brief 6:: Photohoot

Today I photographed my work to put on my boards. I am pleased with most of the photographs, although a few of them need a little touching up.

Brief 6:: Presentation

I have been considering how I can best present the work I have. I learnt a lot from photographing my GoPaintball collateral about lighting and background colour, however I want to now focus on the presentation and layout of my Typo collateral to ensure it looks professional.

Consequently, I have been looking at how others have presented their printed work...

Brief 6:: Tote bag

To give away the supplement, free poster, notebook and pen to the customer all at once, I have created these tote bags. They are simple and the speakers name will change on the front depending on who the speaker is.

 It has not come out amazing well, but it shows my idea.

Brief 6:: Free poster

I thought that the event could give away free posters in relation to each speaker so I began to mock up a poster design that would encapsulate the designer through using a variety of their work.

However, I soon realised that the speaker actually produces a free poster for the event anyway, so I could just simply print this out to give a way.

Brief 6:: Slideshow

As it is a talk, I have designed the first presentation slide for the speaker. This will ensure that the presentation is coherent with the rest of the collateral.

I have mocked my design onto the slide of an existing presentation slide show.

Brief 6:: Notebook cover

Seen as each attendee will be coming specifically to for the speaker, I am design notebooks to be given away in the tote bag pack.

Originally I wanted them to take the format of the invitations and promotional material. However, I soon realised that it would make more sense to make them in the same style as the supplements and using the same binding so that the publication side of the design is more coherent.

Brief 6:: Design 5/6

I have design the cover and first page for speakers five and six. I have printed these and mocked them up as supplements ready to photograph. If time allows, then I shall complete the contents of these.

Brief 6:: Notebook

I wanted to continue the branding through to the notebook so I tried using the same image and layout to wrap around the notebook. However, once I had made this up I then thought it would look better to produce the notebook like the supplements rather than the other printed collateral.

Brief 6:: Exhibition banners and floor vinyls

I have mocked up the exhibition banner and and vinyl floor stickers. These will be put into the JWT building each time they hold a typocircle talk there.

Brief 6:: Exhibition Banners

I want to propose that branding for the whole Typocircle talks, so I am looking at the exhibition banners that will be present at the event to direct people and ensure they are at the correct building; a visual presence for the JTW building the talks will be held in.

Final Crit

Today we had our final crit where we presented all of our work and got feedback. I was actually surprised by the amount of work I had and felt really pleased. I gained some positive feedback from my peers which has given me the drive to now power on to the end.

Brief 6:: Speaker Passes

I have designed speaker passes to fit in clear plastic wallets with lanyards. There will be speaker passes and VIP passes using different images to differentiate the two.

Brief 6:: Tote bag design

After mocking up a few initial ideas for the tote bags, I have decided not to put an image onto the bag of the speakers work but to make the bags universal with only the speakers name on the bag.

Brief 6:: Digital

This afternoon I have mocked up the online presence for the Typocircle talks. I have tried to keep visual consistency from the poster through to web. I think this has worked well and my designs work considerably well with the identity of Typocircle itself.

Brief 6:: Supplement 2 and 3

I have printed the contents and covers of supplement 2 and 3. Each supplement has only 10 spreads (and a few blank pages in between). If time allows I am going to fill these blank pages, but in terms of showing what I want to produce these will be sufficient.

I still have supplement 4 to print.

Brief 6:: Foiling the cover

I have tried to foil the cover design as I wanted to use print finishes to demonstrate the quality of the talk and the contents of the supplement. However, this didn't work particularly well as the toner in the printer was not consistent. So I am not going to physically use foiling in my designs but it is something I am going to propose within my designs.

Brief 6:: Invite and Poster Print-Out

I have printed out the poster and invite to see how they work with one another, as well as the size and scale of the type in relation to the imagery. I think they are going to work well and I am going to print these out on Friday so that I can photograph them on Saturday.
